Aquarium fish foods can be found in many different varieties. Choices range from tropical or color enhancing flakes, sinking pellets and wafers to various frozen foods. Many color enhancing flake foods provide all of the essential nutrients aquarium fish need. It is still a good idea to mix frozen foods into the diet of your aquarium fish.
For bottom dwelling fish, color enhancing flakes may never make it down to them. They need sinking formulas like pellets and wafers. Commercial pellets and wafers also provide an excellent source of many of the nutrients that bottom dwelling fish need. Mixing in frozen foods with sinking foods will add variety and ensure that bottom feeders get all the nutrients they need to be strong and healthy.
